I’m Anika Kaul, a psychodynamic counsellor with over 10 years of experience supporting people through meaningful emotional and relational change. I trained at Birkbeck University and Highgate Counselling Centre, and I am an accredited member of the BACP, working in accordance with their ethical framework.
I welcome clients from all backgrounds and identities. Over the years, I’ve developed particular specialisms in:
Recovering from narcissistic family dynamics, especially the impact of narcissistic parents
Relationship difficulties and recurring relational patterns
Rebuilding a grounded and confident sense of self
Addiction and the emotional experiences that sit beneath it
Self‑esteem issues and the internal narratives that shape self‑worth
My work is centred on helping you understand yourself more deeply so you can move toward a more secure and authentic way of being.
My Philosophy
My approach is grounded in creating a safe, non‑judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly. I help you look at the patterns that may be limiting you or holding you back, and support you in developing your own clarity and autonomy.
I work with a wide range of emotional and relational difficulties, including anxiety, substance misuse, depression, relationship challenges, work‑related stress, bereavement, trauma, abuse, and gender identity. I am also kink‑aware and kink‑positive.
Therapy with me can be short‑term or long‑term, depending on your needs. It isn’t about “fixing” feelings — it’s about understanding them, exploring where they come from, and learning how to manage them in a more grounded and authentic way.
