I’m Anika Kaul, a psychodynamic counsellor with over 10 years of experience supporting people through meaningful emotional and relational change. I trained at Birkbeck University and Highgate Counselling Centre, and I am an accredited member of the BACP, working in accordance with their ethical framework.

I welcome clients from all backgrounds and identities. Over the years, I’ve developed particular specialisms in:

  • Recovering from narcissistic family dynamics, especially the impact of narcissistic parents

  • Relationship difficulties and recurring relational patterns

  • Rebuilding a grounded and confident sense of self

  • Addiction and the emotional experiences that sit beneath it

  • Self‑esteem issues and the internal narratives that shape self‑worth

My work is centred on helping you understand yourself more deeply so you can move toward a more secure and authentic way of being.

My Philosophy

My approach is grounded in creating a safe, non‑judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly. I help you look at the patterns that may be limiting you or holding you back, and support you in developing your own clarity and autonomy.

I work with a wide range of emotional and relational difficulties, including anxiety, substance misuse, depression, relationship challenges, work‑related stress, bereavement, trauma, abuse, and gender identity. I am also kink‑aware and kink‑positive.

Therapy with me can be short‑term or long‑term, depending on your needs. It isn’t about “fixing” feelings — it’s about understanding them, exploring where they come from, and learning how to manage them in a more grounded and authentic way.
